Please use some of the following prompts to reflect upon your semester in English 131.. This reflection letter pushes you to look further at your writing process, your success as a student, and your immediate goals at HFC. This letter should be two full typed pages. Do not respond in bullet point format, rather weave your responses into a fluid reflection piece. You should not try to respond to all of the bullet points, but rather select the points that are important to you. As always, I also encourage you to discuss or reflect upon elements not suggested within the prompts.
How did you feel when you initially read through your previous work for the Portfolio Revision? Were you surprised with your writing? Were you pleased with your submission work? Do you feel that you presented your analysis and/or opinion on paper effectively for your audience to interpret, analyze and connect with your writing? Which specific strategies did you utilize when you worked on your revisions? How did you approach these revisions? What environment did you reside in when you worked on your Portfolio? How do you feel this environment contributed to your writing process? Is this the same environment you were in when you worked on other work for the class? How did you decide which IRP writing (review or letter), to create for the Portfolio? Did you look to any resources for examples or suggestions? How do you feel your writing has improved throughout this semester? Be specific! Use specific examples to support your claims and analysis. What were some of your Aha moments which made you realize this? What areas of writing do you feel we did not cover or approach this semester that you wish we would have spent time with?
