PS450: Course Reflection Assignment

In lieu of a final exam, you will write an evaluation of the class and your experiences in it as the last entry in your journal. This entry should be about 3 pages double spaced, 12 point type (something like Times New Roman or Arial type); this is in addition to any university-required student evaluations. This is an informal assignment so you will not use APA format but rather use a more conversational format. Make sure you put your identifying information at the head of the paper.

This evaluation will emphasize what you learned in the class, what you feel you accomplished (with "accomplished" self-defined). In his book Future Shock, Alvin Toffler stated “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” Your self-assessment should emphasize this concept of what you have ‘learned, unlearned, and relearned’ in this class. To do this, it might help to consider what Alan Alda wrote (paraphrased from Never Have Your Dog Stuffed: And Other Things I've Learned) ‘Real (learning) is a willingness to let the other person change you.’ Reflect on what may have changed in you as a result of your work in this course and/or what you might take from this course forward with you in your college education, your work, your life. Also, consider why you took this class and what your goals were. Did you achieve them? Did they change?
