Part II due in 36 hours
FINAL COURSE PROJECT PART 2 Tool Mapping Your Community’s Assets
A community health nurse cannot possibly carry out all aspects of the nursing plan. It is important to consider partnering with associations,
clubs, local institutions, churches, businesses, etc. Their assets (talent, spaces, equipment, donation of flyers, projection equipment, stickets,
ideas, etc.) are valuable in carrying out the plan. The map below can be used to depict a community’s strengths. This is a tool to help you process
your thoughts. Do NOT submit it through Turnitin or the Dropbox.
1. Refer to the “Sample Community Asset Map” in the document by Northwestern University Asset-Based Community Development Institute School of Education and Social Policy that’s posted under the Final Project books on Moodle: “Discovering Community Power: A Guide to Mobilizing Local Assets and Your Organization’s Capacity.” It is similar to the tool below.
2. In the space provided below, create an asset map of your own community. Refer to the guide listed above for more examples of community organizations that may be considered helpful.
