Problem of Practice Steps:

To brainstorm and identify a topic for your annotated bibliography, complete each of the following components below. Answers can be bulleted or brief phrases.

Remember that your problem of practice must be related to secondary education and your content area.

1. Make observations. Include data as applicable. (I notice.., I observe…)

2. If possible, discuss your observations with your peers and/or colleagues. Take notes.

3. Phrase problems as questions that are actionable. (Note: See page 13 of this document for examples.)

4. Select a focused problem of practice.

5. Identify possible key terms for your research in the annotated bibliography.
