Assessment Description

Create a PowerPoint presentation of 6-12 slides on a special population with co-occurring obsessive-compulsive, anxiety, or substance-induced disorders. Refer to Chapters 2-3 and 6-10 in your textbook to complete this assignment. Please choose one of the following that you will address in your presentation: 

1. A woman with co-occurring obsessive-compulsive disorder and cocaine-induced psychosis.

1. A man with co-occurring body dysmorphic disorder and social anxiety disorder. 

2. An adolescent with co-occurring trichotillomania and THC-induced psychosis.

1. An older adult with co-occurring hoarding disorder and phencyclidine-induced psychosis.

After you have chosen the special population you will address, include the following in your presentation: 

· A definition of co-occurring disorders 

· The common signs and symptoms of both disorders 

· Identify the various issues related to the chosen special population 

· Barriers to treatment and special considerations related to the chosen special population. 

· Describe evidence-based treatment models for the chosen special population and disorders. (e.g., behavioral health, psychopharmacological, and medical treatments). 

· Adjunct services tailored to enhance the treatment of the chosen special population and disorders. 

· A title page containing the chosen special population. 

· Two additional scholarly sources from the GCU library, in addition to the course textbook, as well as complete in-text citations and references. 

 Title slide and reference slide are not included in the slide count. Include speaker notes below each content-related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 50 words. 

 While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. 

 This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
