Configuring a Security Group
Once an EC2 instance is running, we can
connect to it. However, we must make
sure that connections are limited to the
individual student who created the
instance. Security groups provide this
ability by allowing the user to specify a
unique IP address to connect to the
instance.
From the EC2 instance dashboard, select
the instance and then select the security
group launch wizard as shown below.

From the Security Groups page, select
the Inbound rules tab and then click Edit
inbound rules.

From the Source dropdown menu, select
MyIP. The form will automatically
populate your desktop IP address. Enter
a description into the description field
and click Save rules.

Now, only the desktop device with
specific IP address in the inbound rule
will be able to successfully connect to
the EC2 instance.
