Demonstrates listening and understanding of some musical terms. A musical term or two may be used incorrectly. Responds to the music generally .

30-37 points

Demonstrates superficial attention to the music. Uses musical terminology on a very basic level. Does not respond to the music in a meaningful way.

0-29 points

It’s apparent that the student did not pay attention to the concert. Doesn’t use appropriate musical terminology. Does not give a thoughtful response to the music.

23-25 points

Thoughts are well organized. There is an introduction, followed by detailed descriptions of two to four pieces, followed by a conclusion. Paragraphs are between three and six sentences, with smooth transitions.

Somewhat organized. Includes introduction and conclusion. Paper is broken into paragraphs. Transitions between sections are choppy. Paragraphs are not ordered logically.

Little effort has been made to
