COMS 360 Litke - Content Assignment 4 (Chapters 8 and 10)

For Content Assignment 4, you have three options from which to choose . Select EITHER Option I or Option II or Option III. Follow directions carefully for requirements and format for each of the options. You are expected to work alone on this content assignment, regardless of which option you select.

Option I – See the study guide (below) for chapters 8 and 10. There are thirty key concepts/themes listed. Select any 25 of the key concepts or themes, and IN YOUR OWN WORDS, define, explain, and/or characterize the 25 concepts or themes selected. Each description should be sufficient to clearly explain the concept or summarize the thematic area. Single space each of the concept/theme clarifications but skip a line between each concept/theme clarification.

Option II - See the study guide (below) for chapters 8 and 10. There are thirty key concepts/themes listed. Select any 25 of the key concepts/themes, and write a multiple choice question for each of the 25 selections made from the key concepts list. Do not use exam questions from any other source; your questions should be original ones written by you. All questions require response options of “a-e” as seen in the following example. Single space within numbered items, and double space between numbered items as seen in the example that follows.

Respond to BOTH of the following questions . I will be looking for your ability to show understanding of key ideas from these chapters, and ability to identify and discuss significant gender issues related to education and organizations in the United States. Responses should incorporate relevant concepts from the chapters. Bold and underline first use of any key concepts used in your essay responses.

Provide an essay response to both of the following questions.

1. After reading chapter 8 on gendered education, provide a two-page essay response in which you identify and discuss significant issues related to gender and education in the United States.

2. After reading chapter 10 on gendered organizational communication, provide a two-page essay response in which you identify and discuss significant issues related to gender and organizations in the United States.

Requirements

Each essay response should be typed, double spaced, standard 1” margins on all sides (unjustified), in 12-point font. Each response should be a full two pages in length (MAXIMUM four pages total for this assignment). See the COMS 360 Guidelines for Written Work in the course syllabus for additional guidelines for papers and review any feedback previously provided. Better responses will be clearly written and organized, tightly proofread and edited, and appropriately formatted and cited. Be sure that you cite carefully and submit original work for the assignment.
