(ANALYSIS) COMPARISON/CONTRAST

PAPER 2

Comparison/Contrast is a method of exposition which presents the points of resemblance and the points of difference between two or more subjects. In class, two films were viewed that were similar, yet very different. There are many likenesses and differences in the two films, and the writer is not limited in choosing the methods to analysis the two films. There are many ideas and stories with both films. Nevertheless, the writer should be careful to follow the suggestions presented in class for writing a comparison-contrast paper.

The paper should be of five to seven well-written paragraphs including no less than

three direct quotations.

As always, the paper will follow MLA standards with database research and a Works Cited page. However, do not forget the front matter before the essay -- Cover Sheet, Purpose Page, and Outline.

Remember to shape a clear, well-written introduction with a strong thesis statement.

The body of the paper should contain three to four paragraphs supporting the thesis. The support should include documented examples, facts, figures, and quotations.

The closing should summarize the likenesses and differences and end with an emphatic conclusion.

The two films to be compared and contrasted:
