The Comparing Movements and Works of Art paper

Select two works of art, each from a different movement. Select works of art that you have not previously examined in this class. Consider using the University of Arizona

Global Campus Library’s ART101: Week 2 Assignment Links to an external site. web page to research both of your movements and find a credible source for each movement.

In your paper, for each work of art,

• Identify the title of the work, the name of the artist, the date of the work, the place it was created (if known), and the movement it is from.

• Provide a formal critical analysis. o Refer to Section 4.3.5 for examples of formal critical analyses

▪ Description ▪ Analysis ▪ Interpretation ▪ Evaluation

o Explain how political, social, and other applicable contextual factors of the movement or stylistic period is reflected in the work of art.

• Must use at least two credible sources in addition to the course text • Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph • Must be three to four double spaced APA format not including title and

reference
