Comp 2: Research Paper: Contents for Rough Draft

For the rough draft of your research paper, you’ll need to submit the following in order for me to give you adequate feedback.

An outline This should include the main points of your research and a clear thesis statement.

The outline should brief, as it is used only to orient the reader with the content and how it’s organized – much like a table of contents in a textbook. The only sentence necessary is the thesis statement.

The bulk of the text of your research (at least two thirds) This should also include your thesis statement following the introduction. This should include evidence from your sources and at least some of your rebuttal of the opposing argument.

Parenthetical citations wherever necessary.

A nearly complete Works Cited page This is the most important aspect; without it and parenthetical citations, I have nothing to work with.
