Consider revising to say something like, "Effective leaders help themselves..." or "Good leaders help themselves..."

Not all leaders are effective, and some of them don't do the right things.

You need a stronger thesis statement here--what can we learn about human culture, group dynamics, or behavior as a result of studying leaders?

Consider focusing the paper on a specific group/type of leader--there are so many examples of leaders. The topic right now is too broad. What about studying only business leaders?

Comment 5

Introduce some real people. Tell stories about actual people in leadership roles. Use their names and make them "come alive" as characters.

Give some examples--tell us some stories about leaders who had these characteristics.

Comment 9

One strategy would be to compare/contrast some effective and ineffective leaders. Talk about some actual people who have been effective as leaders, and contrast those stories with stories of people who have failed as leaders.

Comment 10

This is a well-written paper. Your writing is clear and easy to read, and the paper is well- organized. However, right now this is a paper about the topic of leadership, but it's not really an ethnography paper. People need to be more of a focus. Tell stories about actual people. Use their names. I would recommend focusing on a smaller group of leaders. I think your topic is too broad. The humans themselves--people who you'd describe as leaders--need to be more of a focus. Work on that as you prepare the final draft.
