Positive Public Health aspects
Patterson Park:
one of the oldest parks in Baltimore, ~300 acres, community events (gardening, farmers market in summer months, running clubs, live music etc.)
Wolfe Street Academy: PreK-5th grade community school and conversion charter school, serving families in the Upper Fells neighborhood.
Over 80% of students speak a language other than English at home
96% of students come from low-income households.

Charming neighborhood filled with art and sense of community
Lack of grocery stores with healthy options and restaurants. If these were present, may promote potentially healthy behaviors and encourage community interaction.
Patterson Park is a great source for healthy behaviors: running, biking, gardening & community engagement
There is a high number of liquor stores, and it was particularly striking to see them located very nearby to the Julie Community Center and Wolfe Street Academy. This could be potentially sending harmful messages to youth
This neighborhood is very walkable, lined with sidewalks & pedestrian crossing signals with audio at major intersections. However, uneven and sloped sidewalks and glass/garbage could be potentially unfriendly.
Saw a rat! This illustrates poor sanitation issues and possible associated health risks
Although this neighborhood has a high Walk Score, grocery stores, gyms and other amenities are not in walking distance and often require other forms of transportation
