Poverty and behavioral issues.” What resources do you feel are important within your community for children and families to access? Crystal: “ELC, Health First, Hillsborough county school board, and other child-care schools.” “Important resources would be attending therapy, church groups, non-profit organizations that offer support in such challenges, EAP (Employee assistant program), and the school board co-signs.” How do you facilitate contact and communication with these agencies offering resources for children and families in your program? Crystal: “Word of mouth is the biggest one. We find people who spread information through conversation. Also, Brochures/flyers, Internet, 211 hotlines, and EAP (employee assistant program).” Crystal: “Through the Hillsborough County school board and DCF (Department of children and families), we are given and use tons of resources for such challenges with children and families. There are not many on your list that we use directly but some of the agencies used on your list have funded our program a few times. The Children’s Board fund a lot of small programs and organizations throughout the county that all schools and development centers have access to.”
