Community Learning Assignment 2
Community Learning Assignment 2
This assignment is an extension of Community Learning Assignment 1 and should discuss the online event that you outlined in Community Learning Assignment 1.
The Community Learning Assignment 2 is due by 11:30 p.m on the last day of Week 12 and requires that you attend one (1) online event and then reflect on the event by using your sociological imagination and analyze which sociological perspective aligns with this event (i.e. Conflict, Feminism, Functionalism and Symbolic Interactionism).
INSTRUCTIONS
1. CHOOSE one (1) online learning event that connects to your topics of interest in this course. Using your sociological imagination, analyze which sociological perspective aligns with this event (i.e. Conflict, Feminism, Functionalism and Symbolic Interactionism).
2. ANALYSIS: Reflect upon the following questions:
a. Micro: Summarize the online event you attended. Consider: who/what/when/where/why. Provide date of the event (must occur during the course) and contact information (i.e. website, flyer, recording link, etc.)
b. Macro: Explain how this online event connects to a greater social issue and any other factors that are important to its greater context. Consider: how is this event significant, or what ideas does it advance in society at large?
c. Connect: Connect the event/its topic to at least 3 key terms from the course, and explain which sociological perspective (i.e. Conflict, Functionalist, Feminist and Symbolic Interactionist) best aligns with the event topic and why.

d. Reflect: What did attending/viewing this event mean to you? What did you learn? What did you feel? Elaborate on your personal outlook - what did you think about, how did your perspective change and what will you do differently moving forward in your career/personal life?
Marking Rubric Before handing in your assignment, it is always best practice to grade the project yourself according to the rubric provided by your instructor. Note: that your professor will be using the same rubric to grade your assignment and that your self- grading is for reflective purposes only (this improves your metacognition!). Do not submit your self-assessment.
