Argument on Racial Bias against African Americans in Healthcare

If you haven't already determined which publication you will target your Commentary Article toward, now is the time to do so.  We'll use this discussion forum to take a more in-depth look at the publication choices and the types of opinion articles they publish.  To begin, review the publication choice listed in the  Commentary Article instructions .  After you have had a chance to review the list, choose one publication and find an opinion article that has been published on its site.  Use the publication and the article to answer the following questions:

1. Which publication have you chosen?  Why does this choice best suit your needs?

2. Provide a URL to one article of your choosing and analyze the choices the writer made in connecting with the target audience and conveying a clear purpose.  

3. Describe some of the strategies the writer used to connect with the audience and convey a clear purpose, and explain how they were successful or unsuccessful.  Contemplate and share whether or not these strategies can be useful in your own Commentary Article.  Important point: You are using a sample article for this week's discussion as a way to analyze writing features to help you develop your own strategies for writing toward the same publication.  The topic of the article you select for this discussion is simply meant to serve as an example this week. Remember, your commentary should be focused on the topic you have been writing about all quarter.
