COM 227 Module Six Journal Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: Journal assignments in this course are designed to help you make meaningful connections between the course content and the larger goals of this course. These journals are meant to offer you a real-world glimpse of public relations, as well as the opportunity to put your critical-thinking skills to work by expressing your thoughts in response to the questions assigned for you to answer.
Prompt: Before you submit your final presentation to your supervisor for review, you must double-check that it contains all the topic areas and items requested. Using the Evaluation Checklist, assess your presentation draft against the assignment requirements outlined in the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document.
Then, you will create a 250- to 500-word journal assignment that answers the following questions:
1. In what ways does your presentation meet the requirements of the assignment? 2. What are specific opportunities for improvement as you finalize the presentation for final submission in Module Seven? Some areas to address could be
visual appeal, presentation organization, presentation content, presentation opening, the notes section, and/or the focus on social media. 3. How did your presentation benefit from the four-step planning process? Are there any steps that you could return to for improvement prior to
finalization for the final submission in Module Seven? Explain.
Be sure to attach the completed checklist (with the evaluation section filled out) and your self-evaluation of the presentation. Components of this journal assignment will assist you in completing critical element III (Implementation) and IV (Evaluation) in your final project submission.
