Coca-Cola Company
History
Coca-Cola is an American well-known company that serves the best soft drinks including Coca-Cola. It was established in 1892 but the Coca-Cola drink was introduced in 1886 by a Pharmacist of Atlanta. The headquarters of Coca-Cola Company is present in Atlanta, Georgia (Hartogh, 2002). The first drink was a soda drink served years ago and it grew slowly and gradually to several soft drinks served today around the world. Coca-Cola Company worked hard to encounter all the challenges and excel throughout the world.
The company’s mission is to make its consumers happy and fill their minds and heart with joy. Its main focus is to spread optimism and bring a difference to people’s lives (Zhang, 2019). Their goal is to serve people with their loved drinks and brands.
Management
Coca-Cola is used widely throughout the world and the reason behind this is its effective management structure. There is one main head office that leads the company and directs every employee according to their rules and regulations (Hartogh, 2002). This corporate segment is made up of 12 major company officers who make decisions and apply strategic plans to the overall structure of the organization.
Competitive advantage
Apart from its history and structure, Coca-Cola Company has some competitive advantages. The sales and market share of the company are increasing day by day that makes a real competition for other beverage companies. It has gained a high reputation in the market because it produces a friendly environment and people enjoy it (Hartogh, 2002).
Competitors’ strengths
Other beverage companies especially PepsiCo is the biggest competitor for Coca-Cola. The competitor has great diversification as compared to Coca-Cola. Diversification means PepsiCo is producing many other products like lays etc. but Coca-Cola is lacking this ability. The competitors are more concerned about their consumers’ health (Zhang, 2019). They have a low rate of carbonated drinks while Coca-Cola is producing carbonated drinks that cause obesity and diabetes. It is a great strength for its competitors to lead in the market.
Organizational Challenge
Coca-Cola is suffering from a great dilemma that is the production of highly carbonated drinks. The sugar challenge has arrived and the company needs to take serious action to overcome this challenge. To shine in the market, Coca-Cola has to remove their highly carbonated drinks or decrease the amount of sugar in drinks (The seven challenges of Coca-Cola. – Ries, 2021).
As the competition is increasing day by day, Cola-Cola should take immediate steps to lessen down the amount of sugar used in soft drinks. This will raise a question for other beverage companies that why they are not concerned about the customers’ health. It is a great chance for Coca-Cola to overtake its competitor in the market.
