IT Trend Special Topic Research & Presentation

General Introduciton

Students will be randomly assigned to 6 different teams. Each team will research and prepare a research report and class presentation about one of the following topics:

1) 5G/IoTs/Fog Computing (emphasis on applications for mobility business solutions, collaboration, and smart Xs: Smart City/Agrigulcture)

Instead of focusing on technical aspects of each topic, the scope of this assignment is business applications of the technology. How do these technologies improve business performance and/ or create new opportunities for business?

When researching and preparing the presentation, teams must pay attention to the focus I am recommending (e.g., marketing and sales).

Teams must use reliable sources for their research (avoid blogs and online sources with no known quality).

In general, your final research paper (MS Word) and presentations (PPT) and should cover:

1) An introductory section about current technological trends;

2) A summary description of the topic (what is it? How does it work?);

3) Business applications of the technologies discussed (examples);

4) A discussion of the potential for the technologies discussed to be game-changers in business (opportunities and challenges);

5) A conclusion section (with your takeaway from the discussion).
