c) Answer the following questions using your own words:  

1. According to the author of The Emotional Connection of Distinguishing Differences and Conflict, "When managing diversity or differences, one has at least four options for guiding behavior: avoidance, conflict, tolerance, and appreciation." Please describe how each of these four strategies may be used or viewed as positive approaches for successfully managing differences or diversity in an organization. Make sure your instructor can tell that you read the textbook information. (Minimum 200 words) (8 points)

2. Reread the information in the article on the Model illustrating “The Escalation of Differences into Conflict” as an inverted triangle. What were the escalating conflict events in the Walmart lawsuit which were illustrated by this Model? As you answer this question, be sure to compare the events to specific steps in the triangle. 3. Think of an experience you have had in an organization or social setting involving avoidance or repression of differences.   What was the outcome?   How did you feel about the outcome? (Minimum 200 words) (6 points)
