Executive Summary
The system development life cycle is basically an outline of different stages in a process involved in achieving a particular goal. Despite the fact that the steps in a system development life-cycle are identical, the specific actions taken at each stage are unique to the organization in question as well as the goals and objectives that should be achieved (Loper, 2015). In the case of WeLoveVideo, Inc, the selected system development life cycle is agile. This is a strategy that utilizes seven stages in the process, but they do not have to be followed systematically. The stages include; inception, initiation, analysis, design, construction, testing, and deployment. The implementation of this strategy does not follow a particular system. The stages are executed randomly depending on the prevailing and needs. For example, after inception, the next stage could be testing or analysis.
One of the major advantages of the agile system development life cycle is the fact that it is flexible. There is no rigid path that must be followed for the strategy to achieve his objective. Due to the flexibility of the system, it is possible to switch from one stage to either of the others so as to achieve the best results. Despite the benefits of the agile system, it comes along with its own set of challenges (Roebuck, 2011). For example, the lack of the need to follow a particular way to achieve an objective might be confusing to the inexperienced staff. They might not know which specific step they should follow next to get the best out of the system. This confusion can compromise the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the system making it unable to achieve what it is intended to. In short, it is an approach that can only be utilized by experienced individuals in different fields of specialization.
