Structure of an RFP

1.1. Key sections of an RFP

1. Why? People today do not have time to go out to the store anymore. Their lives are so busy and sometimes they live too far away from the store. Several people do not plan what they are going to do that night until something comes up, that is where this application comes into place. This application will allow people to have alcohol delivered to their door last minute because they do not have enough time to go to the store and back.

2. Who? Anyone over the age of 21 who is either unable to drive or does not have time to go to the store to purchase alcohol. Our target market is particularly college students because they usually buy alcohol last minute. However adults outside of college can use our app as well.

3. What? An application that will allow users to browse through a various selection of alcohol where they can choose the particular brand that they want and have it delivered to their door. The app will not only categorize the alcohol by brand but it can be sorted by type, price, alcohol content and more.

4. How?

We will contract big stores like safeway, bevmo, and other liquor stores. Our drivers will be able to get discounts on selected items by using membership cards. We are going to try to work out a contract where we can get discounts on buying in bulk so we can lower our purchasing costs. This app will bring a lot of business to these stores so we need to find some compromise with the suppliers so they want us to purchase alcohol at their stores.

5. When? The selection process will go as followed. First we will choose what stores contract with us so we can update our application with all the products that we can offer. Next we will build the application and populate it with the brands of alcohol that we can provide our customers. Lastly, we will perfect the application before pushing it out to the public to use.

1.2. Statement of Purpose

Our organization is looking for the right stores to partner with in order to supply our users with the alcohol of their preference. Our application will show the users all the alcohol that we can deliver to their door. The delivery drivers will be motivated to serve our users in a timely matter with the products of their choosing. We will motivate our users to come back and use our app with discount incentives.

1.3. Background Information

Our organization’s goal is to meet our customers needs in a way that is convenient for them. We want to serve our users what they want so they will keep coming back to our app to buy alcohol. The application will store the data about the customer like age and what products they look at so we can use those statistics to our advantage.

Our strengths are that we makes buying alcohol easy for our users. Our company makes it easy for our customers to get the alcohol they want without leaving their location. However, one big weakness is that our users do not have to use our app to get the products that we provide. We need to find a way to encourage them to use our service for their convenience.

1.4. Scope of Work

The scope of the project is to deliver alcoholic beverages to people who can not go to the store. We will not offer any other products than alcohol.

1.5. Outcome and Performance Standards

The outcome of this application is to provide people with alcohol without having them leave their house. We are going to track performance straight through the app and using coupons for free delivery to encourage buyers to come back to the app. We can track what products our buyers view so we can understand their interests and push coupons on those products to encourage sales.

1.6. Deliverables

The types of alcohol we will provide is beer and ciders along with hard alcohol. Our goal is to deliver the products within an hour of the users ordering. Hopefully the delivery will take less time but the maximum time should be an hour. After receiving the order, our drivers will go out to the store to buy the products. Then the drivers will deliver the products to the location as quickly as they can.

1.7. Term of Contract

The contract with the suppliers will be for one year so they can see how much we bought from them. The data about what store the alcohol came from will be stored on the app so we can tell our suppliers about what type of people are buying their products.

1.8. Payments, Incentives, and Penalties

Our drivers will buy the products from the suppliers on the spot with a company credit card that will be tracked so we can compare the purchase with the sales order on the application. This means that we can notify the users when the products have been purchased so they know that the driver is on the way to their location. We will track all the sales and client information inside the app so we can send them incentives to come back and use the application.

1.9. Contractual Terms and Conditions

We will make the users enter their driver's license into the application so we can make sure they at least 21 years old. Then when the delivery driver comes to drop off the products, they can check to make sure the drivers licence matches the one stored in the system.

1.10. Process Schedule

First we are going to take less than a week to decide what the application is going to look like and how the users will be able to navigate throughout it. Then, we will collect all the information of the products that we are going to offer inside the app. After that we will decide on an app structure that everyone can agree upon. Next, we will build the application and create a beta that we can test to see if it has the features that we want. After we can create a beta that does everything we need we will test it with some users to get feedback on what they think about the application. Lastly we will take the user's input to improve the experience before we push it out to the world.
