Topic: Clinical Judgment Reflection
Introduction: There are too many nursing errors by novice nurses (new graduates). There is a need to improve clinical judgment (decision making and critical thinking process). The nurse’s role is important, interaction between client and nurse is very important in meeting the client’s needs to meet desired outcome. The Clinical Judgment Measurement Model is the foundation of new NCLEX question types, providing realistic case studies with focus on nursing decisions and Nursing Process.
Objectives:
1. Define Clinical Judgment Model and its impact on nursing care
2. Identify methods to improve nursing care using clinical judgment skills
3. Describe the implementation of Clinical Judgment in clinical experiences
4. Reflect on the first semester nursing experience
Instructions:
1. Students will review the video from NCSBN on Clinical Judgment-The Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) (This was presented and discussed in Week 4). Answer the following questions using APA format. Please refer to the rubric before submitting the assignment to the blackboard site.
