Please read Woods and Hollis, Chapters 11, Assessment and Diagnostic Understanding and 12, Treatment Goals, available on e-reserve. According to Woods and Hollis, the purpose of the diagnostic assessment process is to gather relevant data and arrive at an "accurate picture of the client's" inner and outer worlds and the interaction between the two. This, in turn, forms the basis for creating goals and objectives for treatment. Please reflect on features of the assessment that you believe will aid you in work with your agency's population.
