Assessment Description

Once interventions have been delivered, it must be determined whether students have mastered their literacy goals. Reading/Literacy specialists assist in developing and implementing post-assessments that are aligned to goals and appropriate for students.

Work with your mentor to develop an appropriate post-assessment for each of the three students who received literacy interventions. Implement the post-assessments and evaluate each students’ results with your mentor teacher.

Address the following in your discussion:

· Progress made by each student toward goals, including whether students met their intended goals.

· Strengths of the intervention plan for each student.

· How you differentiated instructional approaches throughout the intervention process to meet the diverse literacy needs of each student.

· Changes to the intervention plan for one or more of the students.

· Next steps for each of the three students.

1. In the “Post-Assessment” section in the LWS, record the post-assessment results, instructional adjustments, and next steps for each student.

2. Following the “Post-Assessment” section in the LSW, write 250-500 words including:

· Brief summary of the data analysis and discussion with your mentor

· Discussion of how working with your mentor throughout the intervention process has helped you more effectively meet the needs of each student.
