Introduction
Climate change affects pilot's training in several ways, some of the ways in which climate change can impact pilot's training are true changes in temperature, the occurrence of precipitation which includes rain and snow, different patterns of the storm, the sea level and patterns of the wind. Also, climate change may impact aviation through increased drought; it impacts the supply of water and energy and the changes in the patterns of wildlife and biodiversity. This impacts aviation by reducing aircraft performance, leading to a change in demand patterns, climate change also leads to the potential to infrastructure, loss of capacity and also disrupts the schedules. Changes in temperature would affect the performance of aircraft. (Siegner, 2020)
How changes in temperature impacts infrastructure, the performance of aircraft and demand patterns and the effect to pilot training.
Climate changes are an average rise in temperature is causing a significant range in extreme temperatures. Increased temperatures impact the performance of aircraft; for instance, rises in temperature would lead to reduced lifts; this poses a knock-on effect on the requirements of the runways. Increased temperatures also affect the payload and the range. Changes in temperature also lead to infrastructural effects such as the requirements in heating and cooling and the heat damage to runways and taxiways. With all these problems arising from the changes in temperature and its effects on infrastructure, pilot training becomes a big challenge to take place as it relies on all these conducive conditions such as balanced lifts, balanced runway requirements and a good aircraft payload. The effects discussed above, therefore makes the training for pilots become difficult.
How changed rain and patterns of snowfall affects pilot training.
Changes in rain and patterns of snowfall lead to increased delays and cancellations of flights. For instance, changes in the patterns of precipitation cause delays and cancellations of the flights. This occurs mostly when there are incidences of increased flooding of airports and surface access. The changes in the requirements of snow clearance and de-icing can be a positive occurrence in the case that there are few; however, these could worse if the occurrences are more severe. Such effects caused by the patterns of snowfall increases delays and cancellation, which causes pilot training to be halt for these could contribute to aeroplane crushes if training occurred irrespective of such challenges. (Hughes, 2020)
The effects of storms on pilot training.
When more storms occur, they lead to increased disruption of the flights. Where the frequency of storms increases, which occurs mainly in the autumn and winter on the North Atlantic and central Europe, results into delays reducing capacity and causing cancellations, this leads to the rerouting of flights and subsequent rises in the burn of fuel, it also damages the infrastructure and leads to increase in lightning strikes which causes consequences for maintained of aircraft and costs. These factors affect pilot training as novice pilots cannot be able to handle such conditions with the aeroplanes. New pilots would always require a conducive environment for them to train effectively.
Conclusion.
In conclusion, I would note that pilot training critically depends on the climate; the favorable climate makes it possible for pilots to train effectively and with ease. Therefore, any change in the climate that affects the weather negatively should be considered in aviation for pilot training.
