Discussion 2
Hornsey, Matthew J., and Kelly S. Fielding. "Understanding (and reducing) inaction on climate change." Social Issues and Policy Review 14.1 (2020): 3-35.
This article talks about the human activities that result into climate change. The article mentions how activities such as increased industrialization is the reason as to why the climate change is accelerating. According to the authors the lack of control of the emissions on household and industry activities affects the greenhouse gases level; the more the level of greenhouse gases the higher the temperatures and hence the climate change and global warming that threatens our lives and the lives of generations to come.
Nunn, P. D., & Kumar, R. (2019). Cashless adaptation to climate change: unwelcome yet
unavoidable?. One Earth, 1(1), 31-34.
The article talks about how much climate change is undesired, unwelcomed but still unavoidable. It explains how the issue of climate change though a great concern to the communities and activists has gotten to a point where there are no human efforts that could help reduce the extent of damage or reverse the issue.
Comparison
The two articles selected are both peer-reviewed and hence credible sources. The two sources however have different insights and thoughts on the topic. The first source is a call to action where the authors believe that humans should change their ways to avoid the climate change. The second article on the other hand suggests that the issue of climate change is beyond humans and that no efforts whatsoever could save us from it.
