Concept & Philosophy For APN: Highest level-Quality Clinical Care

1

Introduction

It is currently carrying out the FNP program.

I also work as a registered nurse.

With enough experience in pediatrics.

In this presentation we will cover:

The concept of nursing based on offering the best quality of care possible.

Concept based on the Nurse Practitioner Care Model.

Theory of Environmental Nursing.

Personal Philosophy, convergence of the idealist-realistic view.

Currently, I work as a registered nurse and have acquired a vast experience in nursing, especially in the area of pediatrics.

Advanced nursing practice requires the use of advanced skills to handle complex clinical tasks. I believe this is achieved through the use of the concept of nursing aimed at providing the best possible quality of care where nurses maximize the use of their advanced skills.

In this case, when I mentioned the concept of high-quality nursing, I use the nurse practitioner's care model, which is designed to improve the provision of care through a system that recognizes and improves the nurse's contribution to nursing. health care.

I also use environmental theory, which talks about the quality of the environment in providing care to patients. The quality environment can be facilitated through the implementation of the nurse practitioner model of care (Bahouth, Blum & Simone, 2012).

I have also drawn up a personal philosophy of nursing that is oriented towards the provision of high quality care services.

2

Reason for selecting Nurse Practitioner Care – NPC Model

The NPC Model aims facilitate provision of high quality clinical care

In correspondence with my concept of Nursing.

The model guarantees maximum efficiency in the delivery system.

Cost-effectiveness in the delivery system (Bahouth, Blum &Simone, 2012).

Clarify the role of Nurse Practitioners (FNP) in interdisciplinary healthcare system.

The nursing care model is designed to improve the provision of high-quality care through a system that recognizes and enhances the nurse practitioner's contribution to the health system (Bahouth, Blum & Simone, 2012). Therefore, it is aligned with my nursing concept to provide the highest level of quality care possible.

The general idea behind the model is that NP deserves to work in an environment that allows them to optimize their potential in the pursuit of their professional goals.

The advantage of this model is given by the provision of long-term holistic care, which promotes the cure of diseases in patients. Holistic care is characterized by high quality care, and evaluates all factors that may be influencing the patient's health.

The role of the nurse as the main element within the system is relevant to the provision of high quality care.

Studies have established that many NPs are prevented from upgrading their potential due to structural defects within the health sector. The nurse practitioner model is designed to provide the necessary support nurses can rely on to optimize their potential in the sector.

3

Characteristics of the Model

The model of Nurse Practitioner care is based on advanced clinical judgment.

The model lays emphasis on expert clinical practice (Stewart &DeNisco, 2013).

The model is distinguished by the element of systems thinking.

Its focus is on the provision of evidence-based care at advanced nurse practice level.

The nurse practitioner's model of care improves NP's ability to provide high-quality health services in a manner consistent with standard practice. The use of advanced clinical judgment is considered as a strategy to provide the best quality of care in order to achieve maximum patient satisfaction (Stewart & DeNisco, 2013). Another outstanding advantage of the nursing care model is the focus on expert clinical practice as a sample of quality and excellence in care delivery. Under this model, NPs are trained in the art of systemic thinking, which is crucial for improving the quality of care within a healthcare setting. The model emphasizes evidence-based practice as an important factor in providing quality care. The relevance of this model is given by the fact that a well coordinated environment allows the PN to offer quality healthcare according to the requirements of professionalism at all levels of the system.

4

Characteristics Continued

Consultations take place at intra and inter-professional levels (Stewart &DeNisco, 2013).

On-going research-based practice for continued improvement of standards.

Paying attention to the specific needs of the population.

Provision of leadership based on clinical, professional and systems standards.

The nurse practitioner's model of care stimulates consultations at all levels of the profession in order to expand the knowledge base of the practitioner. Consultations usually take place at the intra and interprofessional levels in a way that draws on different knowledge and skills to achieve a particular professional task (Stewart & DeNisco, 2013).

The dynamic nature of the modern sanitary environment, this model fosters in all cases the system of continuous practice based on research.

Acquiring knowledge about some of the dynamic challenges of the new system is an important factor in improving the quality of care.

In addition, the model proposes the need to pay attention to the specific needs of particular populations. The nature of care provided within the model provisions is organized in a way that gives NP greater control over health care processes. The element of professionalism is paramount within the whole scheme.

5

Characteristics Continued

Collaboration among the members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Insistence on standard procedures in order to enhance efficiency (National Institutes of Health, 2015).

Coordination of care systems to achieve higher greater efficiency.

Adequate use of resources to promote efficiency in the processes.

In this model, the PN has a duty to establish communication with physicians and other health care teams in order to be able to engage well with the system at all levels.

The element of collaboration is an important factor in achieving interdisciplinary efficiency. Surveys have shown that health settings that provide elaborate pathways for nurses to engage meaningfully with other health care providers are ranked highly in terms of overall service delivery (National Institutes of Health, 2015).

An additional way to shore up process efficiency involves insisting on standard procedures as a way to reduce operational challenges that often undermine process objectives.

The PN should be able to contribute at different levels towards the achievement of high quality care at a personal level. Apart from emphasizing the need for coordination among departments, the system is generally designed in a way that promotes the appropriate use of all resources.

Nightingale’s Environmental Theory

Theory developed by Florence Nightingale (Masters, 2017).

Argues that the quality of the environment is determinant for healing.

Argues that the environment could be utilized to enhance healing.

Warns that unfavorable environments can undermine healing.

According to Nightingale's environmental theory, the nursing element depends to a large extent on the quality of the environment (Masters, 2017). Nightingale developed the theory by realizing that patients treated in high-quality settings were more likely to respond well to treatment than those treated in unfavorable settings.

According to this theory, the nurse is responsible for providing a favorable environment to promote the healing process. Nightingale's environmental theory is based on the proposition that the environment could be used in a way that promotes healing.

One of the outstanding facts highlighted by the theory is that the healing process depends on both internal and external factors.

External factors that influence the healing process usually operate at the level of the environment (air, avoid overcrowding, patients should be classified according to their condition). The theory is generally applied in a broad sense to imply any other environmental factor that is directly or indirectly connected with the healing process.

7

Theory Continued

Nurses and other healthcare workers must demonstrate competence in sanitation.

The nursing environment should have enough light and water (Masters, 2017).

The nurse should be keen on environmental factors that influence the quality of care.

The maintaining of hygiene must be personal and shared.

Nightingale's environmental theory emphasizes the idea of sanitation as an enabling factor in the provision of quality care. The theory states that nurses and other health teams should focus on how to improve the cleanliness of the nursing environment as a matter of quality of care (Masters, 2017). Without adequate sanitation, patients within the nursing environment in particular become susceptible to infections and other communicable diseases (Buttaro, Trybulski, Polgar-Bailey & Sandberg-Cook, 2012). Sufficient supply of light and water are considered some of the important measures that are crucial to providing an ideal nursing environment. This theory is currently applied to issues that go beyond sanitation to other factors that combine to improve the quality of care. The nurse has a responsibility to ensure that every detail of the environment is organized in a way that promotes healing and enhances comfort. The quality of the environment is considered as one of the factors that determine the level of patient satisfaction.

8

Theory Application and Selection

Selected because:

It facilitate delivery of quality care.

Focuses on the external & internal environment.

Applicable in:

Improving nursing environment. This help:

Decrease medical errors, as well as, infections.

Improve recuperation of patient.

Improve patient satisfaction.

Nurses are required to establish measures to ensure that the nursing environment is quiet and non-threatening. Noisy health settings can greatly compromise the quality of care, especially when the patient's condition is sensitive and unstable.

It is in line with this condition that many health centers are away from heavy traffic. Drivers are also instructed to avoid beeping when approaching the health center.

Among the nurse's job is to make sure that no contaminants are found within the health environment. The Nightingale theory considers the environment as an important quality factor.

The organization of a health environment also contributes significantly to the promotion of quality of care. The nurse must ensure that all internal processes within the health facility are administered in a manner that reduces any possibility of infection or medical errors. Many organizations often establish guidelines for improving the quality of the environment in order to improve the overall quality of care (Masters, 2017).

Nursing Philosophy

I am an idealist-realist; The imaginable can be achieved in reality.

I consider the APRN as a knowledge-based practice.

Capable on providing highest-level of quality care.

APRNs play an important role in the promotion of public health (Kutzleb, 2015).

Nursing requires commitment and the genuine desire to improve the quality of life.

My opinion on an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) is that she is a highly trained professional who is willing to deploy the full extent of her professionalism to improving health at the highest level. This is often conceived as idealism, because many factors hampering the delivery of quality care APRN are present. However, I believe that as long as we can imagine the highest possible quality of care, we can come up with strategies to achieve it. This is where idealism and realism lie.

The main focus of APRN should be on the use of knowledge and information for the continuous improvement of health care in a way that is tilted to the needs of patients. The provision of preventive care remains one of the strongest areas of an advanced practice nurse.

As modern societies continue to struggle with the challenges of the advanced practice nurse, it has become necessary for societies to think about the practice of health as an area requiring professional commitment and the ability to relate closely to the various indicators of health care performance.

In many respects, the quality of health care depends to a large extent on how health care providers engage in practices that respond to the demands of populations. The promotion of public health remains a critical area in the field of nursing, as it requires accurate prediction of client needs and a high level commitment to the requirements of professionalism (Roger et al, 2012).

Model, Theory, and Philosophy

Nurse Practitioner Care Model

Nightingale Environmental Theory

Nursing Philosophy

In order for the practitioner's model of care to function effectively, it must be linked to an effective theory and guiding philosophy in the practice of health care. The combination of the three elements promotes the use of various clinical trials in the promotion of health care within the community. Nightingale's environmental theory is appropriate for the operationalization of the model because it provides crucial insights on the need to link several environmental factors towards improved clinical practice. The theory emphasizes the need to maintain a clean environment as a factor of high quality health care. The quality of health care is determined by a number of factors including levels of efficiency of supply systems. The nursing care model is designed to harmonize the different parts and processes of health practice in order to improve the overall impact in the field of health practice. Achieving the advantage of efficiency depends on the ability of the health professional to link the various characteristics of the model with the appropriate theory and philosophy.

11

Conclusion

Within the nursing concept of highest-level quality care:

The Nurse Practitioner care model is designed to optimize the NP’s potential.

Environmental theory aims at providing quality care.

Philosophy of Nursing objective quality care.

Theory implemented in context of model, and vice versa

The model and theory can help articulate/implement my philosophy in practice.

Emphasis on quality of care should be based on EBP.

Improving efficiency is a key factor.

Ultimately, the nursing care model is designed to enhance the potential and performance of the nurse practitioner. The model is based on the recognition of the need for efficiency and high quality of care within the healthcare environment.

Model, philosophy and theory can be a framework through which they can be used to implement one another. This is because they all are aligned to the delivery of quality can and concept of nursing selected.
