The Mission Statement In a corporate environment, a mission statement is a description of what an organization wants to accomplish in business.
A personal mission statement is a description of what you want to accomplish in your life! It:
1.Describes your fundamental purpose.
2.Guides the planning and implementation of your vision
3.Describes your own personal objectives, long-term goals, and guiding philosophy—all of which touch your professional life, as well.

The Mission Statement
Personal Vision Statement:
“I will be financially wealthy enough at a young age to be able to travel the world in a manner that is responsible and sensitive. In doing so, my children will grow up as real global citizens who share the same values as my future wife and me.”
Personal Mission Statement:
I will obtain my CPA when I am 25 and will use these skills to advance through a career in the commercial real estate industry. I will build my own independent brokerage by 35 and will sell it at 40 years with children between 5 and 8 years old. That will give me the financial resources to live my vision.”

The Mission Statement: Sample During the next two years in college I want to achieve excellent grades (3.5 or higher) in all my coursework.
I will also seek experience in a leadership role in a club, team, or activity, and I will actively seek two summer internships, three networking opportunities, and other hands- on experience.
I will also take advantage of the many career services workshops that are offered at UWB
In addition, I will volunteer in at least one community service organization on a regular basis. I will keep in close touch with my family as often as possible and help my parents with my younger siblings.”

Defining a Vision
Another example of a personal vision statement:
“After graduation I will learn about and interact with the world through employment that sends me to Asia as an expatriate business person. As a second career I will build a charity that looks after environmental interests.”

Here’s an example of a possible vision statement:
“I am determined to be the best marketing intern among my peers at Amazon, the best student to my teachers at UWB, the kindest and most optimistic person to my friends, the best son to my parents that I can possibly be, and the most environmentally responsible citizen of this planet!
I pledge to use my strengths to better my weaknesses in all areas of my life.”
Sounds like a promise, doesn’t it? That’s what a vision statement is: a commitment to your future, put into words!

The vision statement forces you to ask yourself some profound questions
1.What do you want to be known for? 2.What are the most important things in your life? 3.What do you want to achieve? 4.What would you like to hear your friend’s to say in your Eulogy?
Your vision should include what matters most to you, so when you write your vision statement, you need to reflect on and clarify your values. Think about the words that best express who you want to be.

The Value Statement A value statement provides you with a list of “guidelines” that will help you as a friend, a co-worker, an employee or a community citizen in vague circumstances.
They are non-quantified but very clear. They can also change over the years
