To write this report, you need the knowledge from the textbook, especially Chapter 7.

This Class Report is designed as a Mini Report of Hot-Spot Policing based on the following

hypothetical case (for CJ384-01 Course-Use Only).

Hypothetical Case:

Supposed, I was just elected as the Mayor of Itta Bena, Mississippi, last month.

Supposed, you have been the Chief of Itta Bena Police Department for 12 years.

Supposed, as a new mayor, I ask you as the Police Chief for 12 years to submit a Mini Report of

Hot-Spot Policing to me. In the Report, you should analyze the possible clusters of burglary

offenses in some geographic areas of Itta Bena next year (2022) and propose corresponding Hot-

Spot Policing measures to deal with the possible clusters of burglary offenses.

Format of Mini Report of Hot-Spot Policing:

1. Use “Attachment” of “Microsoft Word” to submit your Class Report.

2. This report should have full and numbered six (6) pages of text in length (no shorter or longer than this) plus a cover page (indicating title, date, class name and number, and your

full name). The cover page is an extra page and should not be counted in the six (6) pages of

text.

3. When you quote somebody else’s ideas or any materials, please add “References” right after the report text. “References” should follow The APA Format (you find it under the folder of

“Class Report”). “References” should not be counted in the six (6) pages of text.

4. Photos will not be counted as text. For instance, if two pages of photos, your report should have eight (8) pages of text in total plus a cover page.

5. Each page in text is typewritten, double-spaced with 1” margins, number 12 “Times New Roman” character, 22-24 lines. The report should contain above 1,800 words in total.

6. Writing should be clear and expression should be accurate without grammar, spelling, or typing errors.

Contents of Mini Report of Hot-Spot Policing:

In your Class Report as a Mini Report of Hot-Spot Policing, you MUST use the following five

subtitles (five sections) within the text (your Class Report will NOT be accepted without using

the following subtitles within the text).

I. Introduction (Limited to Half Page)

In this section, you, as the Police Chief, should offer a general introduction to the possible

clusters of burglary offenses in some geographic areas of Itta Bena in 2022 and to Hot-Spot

Policing.

II. High-Visibility Patrol in Itta Bena (Limited to 1.5 Pages)

In this section, you, as the Police Chief, should provide a thorough projection of how High-

Visibility Patrol as a Hot-Spot Policing strategy could deal with the possible clusters of burglary

offenses in some geographic areas of Itta Bena next year (2022).

III. Zero-Tolerance Disorder Enforcement in Itta Bena (Limited to 1.5 Pages)

In this section, you, as the Police Chief, should provide a thorough projection of how Zero-

Tolerance Disorder Enforcement as a Hot-Spot Policing strategy could deal with the possible

clusters of burglary offenses in some geographic areas of Itta Bena next year (2022).

IV. Police Crackdowns and Raids in Itta Bena (Limited to 1.5 Pages)

In this section, you, as the Police Chief, should provide a thorough projection of how Police

Crackdowns and Raids as a Hot-Spot Policing strategy could deal with the possible clusters of

burglary offenses in some geographic areas of Itta Bena next year (2022).

V. Conclusion (Limited to One Page)

In this section, you, as the Police Chief, can make some concluding remarks based on the above

projections.
