Human Rights Movement
Human rights movements are nongovernmental social movements committed in activism associated with the issues of human rights. The global human rights movement foundation involves resistance to slavery, segregation, oppression, racism, and imperialism of indigenous people (Wikipedia, 2012)[footnoteRef:2]. The commission of the human rights movement was guided by Eleanor Roosevelt's forceful leadership, captured the attention of the world. The declaration of the human rights movement was adopted in December 1948 by the fifty-six members of the united nations. The human rights movement was created so that to end slavery and also racism. In this paper, we will discuss the human rights movement, their social impact, and the legal impact of this issue. For example, most African Americans were discriminated on their race by other races. Also, most of the men were used as slavery; they worked for white individuals with no pay. And with these people felt that it was not right to be treated that way, this gave rise to the human rights movement. In this paper, some of the research questions are; What are the social and legal impacts of the human rights movement on society? What gave rise to the human rights movement? Did the human rights movement help the individuals to get what they wanted? The research method used in this paper is a secondary research method where we used the already existing data on the material published in research reports. We used the materials from the publication to find the information on the human rights movement. In American society, the civil rights movement impacted society in various ways. This movement racked up many victories that were notable, from the Jim crow segregation dismantling in the south to the federal legislation passage banning racial discrimination, to the universal awareness of the cultural heritage of African Americans and its special contribution to the united states' history.
The civil rights movement drought about the significant economic and social mobility of African Americans all over the state. It outlawed racial discrimination, offering greater resources access for religious minorities, women, low-income families, and African-Americans. (History.com Editors, 2009)[footnoteRef:3] The civil rights movement ensured that racial biasness in American society was eradicated. The human rights movement in America has had a great impact on the culture of Americans since the 1960s. More African Americans obtained economic and political equality with whites, and they also acquired apprehension as the culture of African Americans started to spread across the culture of Americans. Also, the African Americans who were active in the movement became engaged in global politics to make sure that the rights they had gained over the prior decade were not lost on future generations. In conclusion, the human rights movement in America was caused by various issues such as racial discrimination, slavery, oppression, and so on. Throughout the history of America, various groups have fought for rights that the constitution of America offered them. The human rights movement in the united states is about the African American campaign. This is because of their skin color; they did not have similar rights that the white did for a long time. The African Americans were given injustices, and this brought about a time of social disruption. After the civil war, they made an end to slavery, and African Americans became citizens, and they got their right to vote. Because of the injustices that the African Americans were given, this issue led to the rise of the human rights movement.
