CIS3215 Ethics in Cybersecurity Project and Assignments

Project: Select ONE of the following choices for your class project:

1. Emerging Technology Ethics Presentation: Research the ethical implications of an emerging technology (e.g., AI in cybersecurity, IoT devices, Quantum Computers). Students will:

a. Prepare a presentation on the technology and its cybersecurity implications based on the research paper

b. Discuss potential ethical issues c. Propose guidelines for responsible development and use

2. Legal Research Project: Conduct legal research on a recent cybersecurity court

case. Students will: a. Summarize the case details b. Analyze the legal arguments presented c. Discuss the implications of the ruling on cybersecurity practices

3. Cybercrime Threat Landscape Report: Research current cybercrime trends. Prepare

a detailed report that: a. Categorizes diLerent types of cybercrimes b. Analyzes their impact on individuals and organizations c. Evaluates the eLectiveness of current cybersecurity measures in preventing

these crimes

4. Legal Framework Analysis: Analyze the major cybersecurity laws and regulations. Create a comprehensive report that:

a. Summarizes each law/regulation b. Explains its impact on data protection (both at rest and in transit) c. Discusses the responsibilities of cybersecurity professionals in ensuring

compliance Project requirements:

1. The project should be no less than six to ten pages (3,000 – 4,500 words) to address the selected project topic. More pages may be used based on the depth and detail of the project research.

2. Proper grammar and punctuation must be used. 3. APA 7 format for the paper and all citations used in the project. 4. Those selecting Project 1, will need to submit a PowerPoint presentation of the main

points of their paper.
