CIS-122L WEEK 1 ASSIGNMENTS

STARTS: Thursday, January 31, 2019

DUE: Midnight (end of day) Wednesday, February 6, 2019

Part I: Textbook Microsoft Excel 2016

Please Read Module 1 – Getting Started with Excel - Session 1.1 & Session 1.2, pp. EX1 – EX57 in your textbook. You will submit 1 workbook and one Word document for homework, as well as the plagiarism agreement. (A total of three files are turned in.)

In the buff colored sections of the lesson you are to do the hands-on exercises along with the book. This will give you the experience that will enable you to better understand the goal of each feature. If you don’t understand the concept, try it again. If you still do not understand the concept, please email the instructor for help.

The files you need are in the Student Data Files Excel 2016 folder in the Assignments area of the Blackboard course site. Please download them prior to beginning the module lesson. DO NOT submit the module lesson to me as that document is for practicing along with the textbook.

In the Course Documents area locate the Additional Instructions & Corrections for Module 1. It contains corrections to the textbook for this Module and information to complete the Certification part of the assignment. There is also a PowerPoint presentation for Module 1 should you want another point of view.

Complete the 4 parts of the Week 1 assignments as listed below. Save your files with your last name, first initial, and the filename specified, e.g. SmithJ Balance Sheet. Use the link provided on the Assignments page to upload your completed files. (You can attach multiple files and upload them all at once.)

At the end of the textbook tutorials there is a Review Assignment for practice as well as Case Problems for application. Each will state what data files are needed to complete that section. You will find the necessary files in the Assignments area in the Student Data Files—Excel 2016 folder. In this first module, the review exercise is mostly typing and is not assigned.
