Church Competition
Purpose Statement
The purpose of this proposal is to describe how leadership competition affects the running of the church and explain how to address competition menace in the church effectively. The Baptist church is a non-profit organization that seeks to benefit the community through the administration of the ministry of God.
Problem Statement
Baptist church seeks to spread the word of God and improve the living standard of the whole society through charity work and taking care of the needs and interests of everyone into consideration. The Baptists church experience leadership competition for positions among the believers.
The original problem
The church leaders competing for positions
Stakeholders who happen to be affected by the problem
The whole church congregation is affected, especially the believers. Other church leaders are also affected, as well.
The impact
Leadership competition in the church leads to a reduction of the kingdom of God to oneself. In the church, people do not compete because they want to expound on the kingdom of God, but because they want to increase their kingdom. Only the winnable kings compete among each other, but the servant leaders only serves others (Thompson, 2015). Similarly, the church is divided as a result of the conflicts and disagreement from their leaders. Competition denounces the church members and leaders to help one another; as a result, the church loses its meaning and mission. The action encourages arrogance and judgementalism. The leader who competes will only talk about their strengths and build themselves by tearing other members apart. Competition for position fosters distrust among leaders (Stott, 2016). Competing leaders struggle a lot to create a trust for one another. The competition also creates work-based theology where church leaders move around looking for greener pasture instead of being appointed because of their devotion and value. Competition in the church also reduces accountability and life on life Christianity. The church leaders are not willing, to be honest about their experiences. As a Christian, one should admit to their weaknesses; however, competition does not allow this.
Type of problem
The problem is based on skills, knowledge, and competition. Church leaders should undergo leadership training to know what entails of a servant. Jesus Christ was an example of a servant leader, and he cared a lot about others and not himself. Also, ethical leadership is essential while training church leaders. Church leaders also lack knowledge about how competition divides the kingdom of God.
Causes
Church leaders do not receive sufficient training. Additionally, there are insufficient programs to mentor church leaders.
Goals
The church focuses on making the kingdom of God bigger through collaboration between leaders and the Congregation.
Proposal for addressing the problem
The pastor should not be the primary care give because he will have a lot of work to do and miss out on many other vital areas. Additionally, the church should have a clear strategy where the mission and vision answers why the church is in existence (Sims & Quatro, 2015). The church should also deal way with leaders who only hold titles but not working in accord with the church’s vision of serving others. The church should look for leaders who have a record of handling other responsibilities area of life because they are leading leaders. Then the church should cut off too much meeting and concentrate on building the faith of the believers as well.
When church leaders receive appropriate training, they will cooperate instead of competing. As a result, the church will be united and build the kingdom of God and not the individuals. Christians and church leaders should remain obedient and faithful and leave out the rest to God. God told Israel, "So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build, and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant" (Josh. 24:13). Christians should only do what is required of them by God, and they will receive less or more because it is all founded on obedience.
Final problem statement
Train the church leaders about the element of church leadership
Stop employing unqualified church leaders, for instance, those who are not saved
Create the clear mission and vision that outline the duties of everyone in the organization.

Data and Research Findings
Through the increased sense of competition, the community and believers are somehow excluded in the decision making process; this means that their needs are not being met .therefore, including, the community in decision making allows the church to meet the needs of both the believers and the continuity (Brik, 2018). Since every stakeholder has its own needs, the church proposed to arrange a meeting where the interest of all the stakeholders will be put into consideration. Some of the church members lack essential services, and therefore, competition for the position in the church was to stop and attend to the needs of believers. Some of the believers were homeless, and therefore, a program was to be initiated to look into the problem.
Another challenge was that the daycare did not have enough teachers to oversee the wellbeing of the children. The church benefits the church members who have no other caregivers, and yet they have to work. The church proposed to employ more qualified employees to overseer the needs of the small ones.
The organization also chose to open a food bank, and it is in action. Community members who lack food can receive them from the church's food bank. Before believers go home, the church organizes meals for them, and they go home not only fulfilled spiritually but physically as well. The church also allocated one of the buildings in the church for homeless people (Brik, 2018). The church pastors were to share one building, and the other one left for homeless church members. However, the arrangement is still underway because it is expensive. Only a few homeless people will be accommodated, and fundraising will be held to build homes for other members. Then the believers, as well as the community, whether with the whole stakeholders, were to raise funds for the construction project of the prayer house. The construction block could help members to spend ample time to pray and praise the Lord. Fasting could be conducted in the same building as well. Then, the conflicting interesting affecting the suppliers were to be dealt with by paying the debt on time.
Proposed Solution
When the employees are few, it can be hard to meet the needs of every kid. Young kids can be depending on and require differential attention. Since the church is a nonprofit organization, the funding should be done through fundraising and the church sponsors to cater to the needs of the small ones. The function of the church is to improve the education of the community, and the young kids are the people who will later offer the workforce and act as the activists of the community in the future. Also, the church has a responsibility to note that every member has a home
Due to the lack of inclusive decision making by both the community and congregation, the community had not been putting in less effort in the church development programs. The community is lacking food bank. The food bank is a place where poor people in the community can get food. The immediate solution for a hungry person is to offer them food. Additionally, among the congregating, most people go home on a hungry stomach as much as they have received the word of God; as a result, they end up not practicing what the pastor had taught in church.
There are various cons that will bar the church from meeting the three proposed solutions, including inclusive decision making sure members have homes and employing personnel to take care of kids at the care center will be costly. Since the organization is already struggling financially, it will be hard (Brik, 2018). More so, employing workers to take care of small ones will require people to volunteer. Also, the decision making process will take longer when everyone’s ideas are determined. For instance, the believers and leaders in the organization compete among one another; it will be hard to reach the decisions.
Stakeholder Analysis and Benefits
The shareholders and stakeholders are the group of onlookers for each business venture and interest in the church. Stakeholders are diverse people with different opinions, interests, and perceptions. Most church project fails because of lack of coordination between the stakeholders. Some have selfish interests and end up bribing others to follow their suit. For instance, the management is playing fowl to pay the suppliers. This may be because the suppliers were not given a contract with a good heart. Some stakeholders wanted other companies to be suppliers so as to benefit directly. Stakeholder analysis helps the church handle some of these challenges.
Lack of proper stakeholder analysis can lead to inde4cisivenes. The church will end up taking too long to make a decision. When there is competition for power, everyone wants to meet their needs; then, it becomes hard to complete a project without challenges. The church is divided as a result of the conflicts and disagreement from their leaders. Competition denounces the church members and leaders to help one another; as a result, the church loses its meaning and mission. The action encourages arrogance and judgementalism. The leader who competes will only talk about their strengths and build themselves by tearing other members apart. Competition for position fosters distrust among leaders. Competing leaders struggle a lot to create a trust for one another. The competition also creates work-based theology where church leaders move around looking for greener pasture instead of being appointed because of their devotion and value. Competition in the church also reduces accountability and life on life Christianity. The church leaders are not willing to be honest about their experiences. As a Christian, one should admit to their weaknesses; however, competition does not allow this.
The advantage of carrying out stakeholder analysis includes; members get to know each other better before the initiation of the project. The risk that might arise from the project is distinguished (Anderson, & Gallini, 2019). It is relatively significant in terms of power and interest. Stakeholder analysis, when best applied, enables the church to make better choices as such as improving the system. The stakeholder analysis can result in the great acknowledgment of the church activities by the partners or sponsors of the project. Through the use of stakeholder analysis, the issue of leadership competition will be minimized because the organization will act on the interest that helps in fulfilling the goals and objectives of the church. For the case who has their own suppliers, as such, want to benefit from them, analysis of suppliers by other leaders, and inclusive decision-making will help to avoid this challenge.
Stakeholder analysis is a crucial step as it enables the policymakers as well as the managers to assess the knowledge, interests, positions as well as alliances and their relation with the church policy. As a result, there is a productive interaction between the managers, policymakers, and stakeholders. The failure to conduct stakeholder analysis can result in constant misunderstandings between the managers, policymakers, and stakeholders. Therefore, stakeholder analysis is a requirement for the initiation of any project.
Implementation Methods
As discussed above, the best three solutions to the problem include, interviewing the congregation about their needs and how far they have been met, including the impact of the church on their lives. The other solution to the incompetent employee is hiring highly qualified staff and making sure that the congregation receives mentorship and timely sermons. The function of the church is to meet the spiritual needs of the believers. The church has had the challenge of competitions among the leaders and the believers. This means that the leadership in the church is weak. Therefore, the stakeholders should take the initiative to send the leaders to the leading colleges. Then the church should also employ pastors and workers who are saved and know how to leader believers. The training takes years and will cost more than $500000 as the church has five employees.
Investing in decision making plan can be timely but produces results. The congregation and community at large should frequently meet with other stakeholders to air out their views of how their needs and interest are being made. Since the decision making process has never been inclusive, members have their needs and are supposed to be addressed (Anderson & Gallini, 2019). Some of the needs include having a food bank and a home. This project can be hard to attain because it not only requires a long time but also finance. The church is a nonprofit organization as such money can only be raised from the sponsors and fundraisings. Building the house for the homeless will requires a sum of $20000 and take two years to be completed. In relation to finance, the church will have to involve well-wishers, including the government, to erect a home for the homeless; however, to meet the need of all the homeless, the project will take ten years. All the stakeholders have to contribute a certain amount of money to the projects.
