A Christmas Carol: Mini Write
For this in class mini write- you have two options for a topic. Once you choose your topic, you will be given a few days to review and outline what you plan to say. You will be given one to two class periods to work on the write. You MUST include all the aspects of the prompt and make sure you have a clean copy to hand in and send to turnitin.com on the due date. Rubric is LISTED BELOW and should be included with the final copy. Note- the writing center will not give you extra points on this assignment
Option 1: It is said that A Christmas Carol is an allegory on many levels. Based on the class notes and discussions- select TWO aspects (characters, etc) that represent a deeper meaning (symbolism) in the novel. You MUST make sure you include what an allegory IS, also make sure you have TWO clear examples and text prove.
Option 2: Ignorance and Want were mentioned during Stave Three: The third visitor in the novel. The Ghost of Christmas Present mentions how both aren’t good, but Ignorance has “Doom” written in his “brow”. Explain TWO ways ignorance is shown in this novel and why it is presented to be bad. You need to make sure you have TWO clear examples and text to prove.
For this you will need:
AT LEAST TWO paragraphs (one per detail because both questions are asking for TWO reasons)
AT LEAST FOUR in-text citations from the novel (as both options are asking for TWO details and evidence)
MLA Format
Hardcopy in class on due date AND Copy uploaded to turnitin.com
