Choose Your Own Adventure- Paper 1

1. Choose a place to visit/vacation/have an experience. Bring a thesis statement to the

instructor to have it approved. The thesis statement should clarify exactly why you plan

to go there. This is an educational trip and while you may include activities for fun and

relaxation, the purpose is to learn about the culture of your destination.

2. Paragraph One should give your reader a generic idea of the purpose of the paper

(travel and cultural education) and a specific thesis at the end of the paragraph.

3. The body of the paper should detail information about the trip. What are the

approximate costs? How do you plan to get there? How will you prepare for the culture

and language of the destination? What activities and foods will you try? What types of

places will you stay in? (hostels, hotels, dorms, AirBNB, camp, etc?) What will you gain

from your adventure? These facts should be supported by at least 4 cited sources.

4. Summarize the purpose of your adventure in your final paragraph and what you think it

will inspire in you.

Paper should be 3-5 pages, written in 12 pt Times New Roman font, and include a Work Cited page (not included in minimum page count). You will submit the following items:

1. Brainstorm- worth 20points 2. Annotated Bibliography- worth 40 points 3. 2 Peer Reviews- worth 40 points 4. Final Draft- worth 100 points
