Physical abuse

You got hit so hard by someone in your family that you had to see a doctor or go to the hospital People in your family hit you so hard that it left you with bruises or marks You were punished with a belt, a board, a cord, or some other hard object You got hit or beaten so badly it was noticed by someone like a teacher, neighbor, or doctor You believe that you were physically abused

Physical neglect

Sexual abuse

Someone tried to touch you in a sexual way or tried to make you touch them Someone threatened to hurt you or tell lies about you unless you did sexual things with them Someone tried to make you do sexual things or watch sexual things Someone molested you Believe you were sexually abused

Emotional neglect

There was someone in your family who helped you feel important or special You felt loved People in your family looked out for each other People in your family felt close to each other Your family was a source of strength and support
