Unsung heroes

Hero is a kind of people who made some great success. What they did have encouraged people from generation to generation and changed the world a lot. There are two kinds of heroes in the world: famous heroes and unsung heroes. Famous heroes made many great jobs for the world. Their works have made a large progress on science, technology and so on. Our life become more and more convenient because of them. Another kind of heroes, we don’t even know their name, but we always can see or hear about what they did. And when some accidents happen, they must be there. They are firefighters and police officers.

Some people may not agree that they are heroes. It seems they just chat with colleagues, drink Starbucks and do nothing. They are lazy, foolish and police officers are violent. Especially after 9/11 attack, someone think the society has exaggerated the heroism of police officers and firefighters. But no matter what happens, they are always the first person who arrive at the sense and control the situation. Sometimes they need to dace the deadly dangers. There are about 68 firefighters fatalities reported in 2018. They come for not only fire, but also every accident, such as car accident, earthquake and so on. They don’t care what difficulty they meet and just keep going. Before firefighters arrive, police officers always come first. In my opinion, police officers are very brave like Batman. Last two weeks, my friends and I went to Starbucks at 4pm. We were waiting for the coffee and talking with each other. Suddenly, a tramp stood next to us and shouted with rule word: “Get out her.” It seemed he was drunk. And he was holding a knife. Someone call the police and police officers immediately and controlled the guy. I thought the police might fear the knife but they didn’t. In the United States, police officers often fight against the gangsters or terrorist who have different weapons. Firefighters and police officers are brave heroes because they know they will meet dangers or even life risk in their every action, and they still try their best to accomplish their missions.

Another reason shows they are heroes is that they always appear when people need help or meet troubles. As I mentioned, I met troubles in Starbucks at 4pm, police officers came quickly and talked to the tramp. If they came late, my friends and I might got hurt or dead because we didn’t know what the tramp wanted to do. And in the United States, sometimes we can see police officers patrol in different areas at mid night. They stay up late so they can go to the place which accidents happens in. Even though people are very dangerous if they are murdered by guns, it’s too late when police officers arrive. But it still can contain some incidents of violence. Because the bad guy also afraid of police officers and they know they will be shouted if they continue to crime. I am a nocturnal animal, and police officers’ working efficiency let me feel safe when I go outside at night.

Everyone may know a little bit about the Marvel heroes. They are brave and great. In many Marvel movies, many scenes show that they risk their lives to save other people, so many people like to watch superheroes’ movies. In reality, firefighters and police officers are heroes. We can see firefighters beat against the fire and save the people in fire. And police officers fight against different gangsters. Last semester, a gunfight occurred near our school. I watched the video online, a police officers was shouted by an escaped criminal. Fortunately it was not a fatal wound and other police officers saved him. Even though all of these cases are their duties, they absolutely can chose to escape the dangers. But they know the people in dangers need them and they need to help the people. What they do are the same as the things which the Marvel heroes do in movies. That is why they are heroes in our daily life.

Everyone has their own standard of heroes. For me, my parents are my heroes. They built a company by themselves and work hard for the family. My instructors are my heroes. They teach me a lot of knowledge and inspire me to better myself. And for the society, firefighters and police officers are heroes. They try their best to help people, and when accidents happen, they control the situations and save people. And there are many other heroes near us. I think the dustman of Bart station is hero. They work for a long time every day and they need to face a serious problem: the homeless people. Some homeless people are good, they also don’t want the life like that. But some homeless people are really rude and dangerous. They sleep in the Bart station and leave a lot rubbish. Sometimes they have arguments with the dustman because they are sleeping and the dustman need to clean the station. And also bus driver is hero. I heard the steering wheel is heavy. They drive early in the morning till the mid night. People who don’t have cars become convenient because of them. In this world, there are lots of unsung heroes. They just do the most normal things every day and people may not notice them. They are a part of society and people live better because of their efforts. They are real heroes and people will finally thanks them.
