For this Case assignment, you will select any 3 of the naturally occurring elements from the Periodic Table to research (not man-made elements). Your essay should follow APA formatting and be no longer than 2 1/2 pages not counting the title and reference page. A minimum of three scholarly references should be included.

In an essay, address each of the following topics:

1. Introduce the 3 elements you chose from the Periodic Table. • How was each element named? Include the name’s origin (Latin, Greek, etc.) and its meaning.  • Who discovered the element? When?

2. Describe 4 properties of each element.

3. How abundant is each element in the earth’s crust, the ocean, and the atmosphere? Find at least one.

4. Describe 3 uses for each element.

5. What special safety measures are important when working with this element? (if none, describe why).
