SPSS 2 Poster
Checklist and possible sections for your final project poster
These elements must be present in your poster to get full credit.
1. A title and the course for which this is a requirement. The TSU logo is optional, and you need to
get this from me.
2. Two hypotheses that incorporate three variables. Two variables in each hypothesis.
3. A table that explains the level of measurement for each variable.
4. Appropriate univariate statistics for each variable and a frequency chart.
5. A section headed analytic strategies that explains what bivariate tests you will do for each
hypothesis.
6. A table that reports the significance, strength, and direction of each relationship in the
hypotheses.
7. Bullet points interpreting your findings form the analysis.
8. Optional, an arrow diagram describing the relationship among the three variables you have
chosen.
Outline
Follow the checklist as an outline.
Each of the elements in the checklist will be a separate textbox on your poster.
The title, author and university affiliation will be in a textbox at the top of your slide.
The hypotheses will be either in a table or in a textbox at bullet points.
The levels of measurement and variable descriptions will be in a table.
The univariate statistics will also be in a table.
Directly below or beside the univariate statistics, you need to graph the frequency distribution matching
the type of graphic to the level of measurement.
The next section in text, within a textbox. In as few words as possible, describe the bivariate tests you
will use to test your hypotheses.
Include a table that tells the test you used, the significance, strength, and direction of each relationship.
This is optional. But it looks nice on a poster and shows mastery of Chapter 14 (not covered in class).
Use a graphic to draw an arrow diagram of the relationship among your variables.
Finally include a textbox with either bullets or text interpreting your results form all your analyses.
