I am a [ ] professor at School of Mechanical Engineering of Tongji University. Since 2017 I met Wei from my course Electric Motor and Drive. At the same time, I was also the tutor of her graduation thesis.

First, she is an outstanding student with the high GPA, and also got A level at my course. She has good understanding of physics and mathematics, and high curiosity about electronics, that’s why she asked for recommendation of electronic books and learned a lot herself, I think. In the class experiment about motor drive and control she showed an enormous enthusiasm at mechatronic and circuit design, which can tell by her questions about the experiments after class and her skillful programing of single chip computer. With this motivation and her industrious work, the excellent experiment result from her and her team will also be used as my future experiment example. As a result, I gave her high marks also based on a great final test result.

Furthermore, her challenging spirit and pursuing of perfection during her graduation project, a design of a cross platform control system, also impressed me. Her logical and scientific thinking capability was indicated by the conversation about the progress decision. With this she achieved the control programs in an ECU and a touchscreen with multi-function more than required and humanized operation and connection between with CAN, which surprised me since her major focused more about mechanical design and manufacture. This tough project but with a great result showed her characteristics of diligence and eagerness about knowledge.

From my point of view, her devotion in mechatronic and automation may be one of the inspirations to apply for a high degree after the bachelor graduation. I believe with the desire of her for knowledge and her prominent academic performance at Tongji University she can make a great achievement as an engineering master student and in the future carrier under the world-leading teaching and guidance of [Nanyang Technological University].

Beyond her dedication, industriousness, keenness she also shows well organizational skills in the course Electric Motor and Drive by arranging the plan and expenses of student experiment as my course assistant. According to her leading in the team experiment in course and the co-work during the graduation project she owns this quick aptness in teamwork. These are also key competence in studying and future work. Therefore, I think she has the ability to adapt herself to tense master program and life.
