aging perspective
CHE 320 Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: As a community health professional, you will interact with many people within the community. These interactions may be in group or individual settings. In this activity, you will have an opportunity to interact with an individual member of the aging population.
Prompt: For Milestone One, you will conduct your interview in Module Two. Then, you will submit a summary of the primary health concerns identified from your interview. This summary will serve as a starting point for when you draft Section I: Introduction of your final project and will become an appendix to your paper.
NOTE: Remember to use the Interview Consent form to obtain formal consent from the interviewee prior to the interview.
Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
Summarize your interview experience in a few sentences. Was your interviewee openly sharing information, or did you feel as though you needed to rephrase questions often to get a response? Did some of your questions get a response and not others? How did you deal with these challenges and unexpected discoveries?
Describe what you learned in your interview. What are some of the primary concerns your interviewee brought up?
How do these primary concerns compare to what you have learned in class up to this point? Connect what you learned from your interviewee to what you have learned in class. Note: You will be learning about more primary concerns in the next module, so this will not be comprehensive, and you may add to it next week. However, you should be able to discuss this in general terms now.
Guidelines for Submission: Your journal assignment must be two to three paragraphs. Submit the assignment as a Word document with double spacing, 12- point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins.
