Assertive behavior

Power and politics

Definition : Process of expressing feeling asking for legitimate changes and giving and receiving feedback honestly.

Assertive people are direct honest and expressive, they feel confident have self respect and help others feel valued, in contrast to aggressive ones.

Assertiveness means encouraging others to be open and honest about their views, wishes and feelings, so that both parties act appropriately.
