Chapter seven addresses key issues concerning the implementation of management strategies, including issues around management, human resources, and operational issues. This chapter explains very important issues that provide insights on how to implement and manage the set strategies. One of the things that I found worth understanding in this chapter is the transitioning from strategy formulation to strategy implementation (David, 2016). This is because there has always been a challenge in doing this. It is possible at times to have a very good strategy, but the implementation makes it immaterial. However, this chapter gives a clear breakdown of how one could implement the formed strategies. This includes laying focus on efficiency, management of forces during the action, and other key things that will materialize the strategies formed. The concept of breaking down the company's long-term objective into manageable annual objectives was also worth noting. This is because the annual objectives will finally lead to the achievement of the major objective.

The issue of managing resistance to change was also worth noting from this chapter. This is because resistance to change, especially in the implementation of a new strategy, is almost sure to happen. Therefore, any organization must be prepared to manage such resistance. Therefore, learning on the three major ways to deal with resistance has been an important aspect. In this case, one may choose to use the force change strategy, rational change strategy, or the educative strategy (David, 2016). The forced strategy involves effecting change by giving orders and ensuring they are executed. On the other hand, educative change involves educating people by giving them the reasons necessitating the change to convince them. Lastly, a rational change strategy tries to overcome resistance to change by convincing people that the change is to their benefit.

The most valuable thing I learned from this chapter, therefore, is how to deal with resistance to change. This is because resistance is sure to come, and the only thing one can do is to prepare in advance to ensure that this resistance does not prevent the firm from achieving its objectives.
