Chapter 6: Strategy Analysis and Choice of the book "Strategic Management Concept and Cases: A Competitive Advantage Approach" outlines the key approaches used in making a subjective decision based on subjective information. The chapter starts by introducing the important concepts used to generate all feasible alternatives and how to make the right choice from them. The chapter introduces strategists on how to evaluate all the available choices and determine a specific course of action. Chapter 6 also discusses the behavioral aspects of strategies such as politics, social setting, ethics, and the organization's corporate social responsibility.

In this chapter, the main topic that I have found very impactive includes the strategy formulation analytic framework and the grand strategy mix. The strategy formulation analytics framework discusses the decision-making frameworks that allow the strategists to evaluate the available choices. The tools that are presented in this framework are applied in all the type of the firm to facilitate the strategic identification, evaluation, and selection (David, 2015). Thus, it makes it easy for the strategists to make the right choice. The ground strategy matrix is another key concept that is discussed in this chapter. This topic discusses in broad the tools for the selection of alternative strategies.

The analysis of chapter 6 of the book "Strategic Management Concept and Cases: A Competitive Advantage Approach" has improved my capacity for decision making. In contemporary business, the environment firm cannot survive without making choices, and thus, as a business manager, one will be required to make the best. Thus, this chapter offered me an opportunity to learn how to evaluate and select the best choice among the available choices. The assessment of the best choice must be done effectively and should include even the behavioral factors that influence choices such as organization corporate social responsibility and ethical considerations.
