Use of Surveys • “The choice of data collection must be in alignment with the specific

research questions and sampling methodologies appropriate to answer those questions. While there are many ways in which social media, online sampling, or crowdsourcing (e.g., Amazon Turk Mechanical, SurveyMonkey Audience, etc.) can be used, the appropriateness of using such tools should be evaluated on an individual basis. It will be incumbent upon the student to articulate the need for the approach (compared to other options) and provide evidence indicating the sample will represent the population of interest.”
