Data Set Questions
Chapter 14 presents an extension of the ANOVA by adding more than one treatment or
independent variable. This Two-Way ANOVA identifies not only the MAIN EFFECT between the
two or more groups and the two or more treatments but also the INTERACTION EFFECT that
may exist between these many variables. We will use SPSS in calculating this statistic using the data sets embedded in this chapter
Data set 1)
1. Identify variables that are tested for Main effects – Are they statistically significant? If so, at what alpha level
2. Identify variables that are tested for Interactions – Are they statistically significant? If so at what level?
Data Set 2)
1. Identify variables that are tested for Main effects – Are they statistically significant? If so, at what alpha level
2. Identify variables that are tested for Interactions – Are they statistically significant? If so at what level?
Data Set 3)
1. Identify variables that are tested for Main effects – Are they statistically significant? If so, at what alpha level
2. Identify variables that are tested for Interactions – Are they statistically significant? If so at what level?
Data set 4)
1. Identify variables that are tested for Main effects – Are they statistically significant? If so, at what alpha level
2. Identify variables that are tested for Interactions – Are they statistically significant? If so at what level?
