The data set Harass.dat contains slightty modified data on 343 cases created to replicate the results of a study of sexual harassment. The dependent variable is whether or not the subjects reported incidents of sexual harassment, and the independent variables are, in order, Age, Marital status (1 = married, 2 : single), Feminist Ideology, Frequency of the behavior, Offensiveness of the behavior, and whether or not it was reported (0 : no, 1 : yes). (For each variable, higher numbers represent more of the property. Using logistic regression examine the likelihood that a subject will report sexual harassment on the basis of the independent variables.

The data files crimes.txt include data about crimes in a state. Please provide all the R codes and screen shots of the results with each of the answers. Make sure your answers look professional and easy to read.

1. Run a correlation test and describe which variables are likely to predict crimes in the state based on the correlation between Crime (DV) and all the other predictors

2. From looking at the results of your correlation test, are there predictor variables that are highly correlated with each other? List the predictor variables and the correlation that are highly corelated with each other.

3. To detect multicollinearity in the data run a VIF test and list the variables that have VIF more than 3.0.

4. Run the original model with all the predictor variables in the data set. List the significant predictors of crimes. What is the R-Squared in the original model? Do you think (based on your common sense) the significant predictors in this model are good predictors of crimes? Why or why not.

5. Run the following codes that transform your data

6. Once you have made the transformation in your data run a VIF test again to detect multicollinearity. Check the VIF among the predictor variable and list them. Did the transformation reduce multicollinearity?

7. Run the model with the transformed data and list the significant predictors and their level of significance. What is the R-Squared for the modified model?

8. Interpret the results of the significant coefficients.

9. Between the original model and the model based on the transformed data which model has the higher R-Squared? If you were to make a public announcement based on these two models which model would you base your decision on? What would you say the predictors of crime in the state are?

Use the data set Mireault.dat to examine the relationshi between current levels of depression and other variables. A reasonable model might propose that depression (DepressT) is a function of (1) the person's current perceived level of vulnerability to additional loss (PVLoss), (2) the person's level of social support (SuppTotl), and (3) the age at which the person lost a parent during childhood (AgeAtLos). Evaluate the model. (Because only subjects in Group 1 lost a parent to death during childhood, your analysis will be restricted to that group.) In the last model derpression was a function of perceived vulnerability, social support, and age at loss. An alternative view might be that vulnerability itself is a funtion of social support and age at loss. (If you lost a parent when you were very young and you have little social support, then you might feel particularly vulnerable to future loss.) a. Set up the regression problem for this question and run the appropriate analysis. (Use PVLoss, SuppTotl, and AgeAtLos.) b. Interpret your results.
