PLEASE RESPOND TO DISCUSSION WITH A MIN OF 75 WORDS NO APA OR CITATIONS NEEDED..

For this discussion I will be looking at the Health Information and Management Systems Society(HIMSS) and HIMSS TV. Some of the specific resources I found interesting our helpful on the website were how it breaks down who they are as an organization. The website lays out its mission, vision, and the opportunities it offers its' members. I thought this was good because for someone like me who has heard of HIMSS but isn't really familiar with what they do-you will leave there with full knowledge of the organization as a whole and why you would want to be apart of it. HIMSS TV I love because it has endless videos on many different topics from health related to cybersecurity.

This foundation offers scholarships as well as other awards. There is the HIMSS Foundation Undergraduate/Graduate candidate scholarship, The HIMSS Chapter specific scholarships, Richard P. Covert, PHD, LFHIMSS Scholarship for management systems, and last but not least the Steve Leiber Innovator scholarship. At this point I would apply for the Undergraduate/Graduate scholarship, and chapter specific scholarships that I may qualify for.

The information that I found within the organization's website assists me throughout my BSHA program by giving me additional opportunities to work on my leadership skills among other things that will be helpful in this new direction of my health care career. I am also always looking for new things to learn-HIMSS offers certifications that I could take advantage of and also use them to look for additional job opportunities.
