III. (Establish Credibility) – Share personal experience, another’s experience you know about, or simply prove to us why we should listen to you/trust that you’re a reliable source.

IV. (Relevancy Statement) – Why should we care? Why is this relevant to us as an audience?

V. (Preview of Main Points) - Restate the central idea here and briefly state what your main points will be.

TRANSITION: This statement tells the audience you’re moving into your main points.

BODY:

I. First Main Point – State your first main point.

A. (Subpoint-supports the main point) – Continue discussing first main point.

B. (Subpoint-supports the main point) – Continue discussing your first main point (if necessary).

TRANSITION: This statement tells the audience you’re moving from your first main point to a new point.
